Getting the Most Out of Your Used Car's Tires

A large amount of how well your vehicle performs on the road is subject to the condition of your tires, and we here at Charles Barker Preowned are here to explain.
There are two basic things to keep an eye on when checking out your tires. The first is how inflated they are. If your tires are under inflated, they'll require more force to more the vehicle, which results in lower fuel economy. On the reverse side, if they're over inflated, you won't get the same level of grip from your tread. And while we're on the subject, the other factor to gauge in your tires is the level of tread that they currently possess. This is important because your level of tread is a direct reflection of how much grip your car has on the road. The less tread you have, the more likely your tires are to lose control.
That said, measuring these two aspects of your car is a breeze. Air can be put in most tires at a gas station, and measuring the level of air is as simple as purchasing a tire-pressure gauge. Knowing how much air should be in your tires is simple too. The correct level of air per tire can be found in most vehicle owner's manuals.
Measuring your tire's pressure is simple too. Simply take a penny, and flip it so that Abe LINCOLN's head is upside down. Insert the penny into the tire's tread. If you can see the top of Abe's heaed, then your tires are likely running low in terms of their tread and need to be replaced.
